Kentucky Youth Health Network
Mini-Grant Application Information

The Kentucky Youth Health Network (KYHN) addresses the health and risk behaviors of youth
across Kentucky by partnering with individuals and organizations to promote positive youth
development. KYHN is a statewide network dedicated to improving adolescent health through
collaboration, education, and advocacy.

Our Mission

KYHN brings together organizations and individuals concerned with adolescent health to
work cooperatively to:

    • Increase public awareness of youth health issues
    • Serve as a resource for developing effective program strategies related to adolescent
      health
    • Promote positive and healthy outcomes for adolescents
    • Advocate for youth in accessing needed services and in shaping policies and practices
    • Provide reliable, evidence-based information and resources

Focus Areas

KYHN provides information and training on a variety of health-related topics that impact
youth, including:

    • Nutrition Education
    • Physical Activity
    • Emotional Well-Being
    • Sexual and Reproductive Health
    • Substance Use Prevention
    • Tobacco Education
    • Violence Prevention and Education

Mini-Grant Description

KYHN is offering mini-grant funding to organizations interested in improving the health and
well-being of youth. These grants are intended to support youth-focused initiatives and the
work of youth-serving organizations. Funded projects must address one or more of the health
related focus areas listed above.

Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to:

    • Parent engagement events
    • Staff training opportunities
    • Youth-focused events or programs
    • Awareness or education campaigns and projects
    • Youth-led public service announcements (PSAs)

Deadlines and Timelines

    • Application Deadline: June 1, 2026
    • Award Notification and Funding: July 1, 2026
    • Project Completion Deadline: March 1, 2027

Award Amount and Funding Information

    • Five (5) mini-grants will be awarded, each for up to $1,000.
    • Funds will be distributed upfront and must be fully expended by March 1, 2027.

KYHN is unable to fund certain items, including but not limited to:

    • Laptops or other major equipment
    • Vehicles
    • Furniture
    • Building repairs
    • Salaries or related personnel costs

Fiscal Logistics

Grant funds will be provided via check and issued directly to the awarded organization or
agency.

Reporting Requirements

Awarded organizations must submit a brief final project summary at the conclusion of the
project. A reporting link will be provided. Required information will include:

    • Project successes and challenges
    • Project reach and audience
    • Whether project objectives were met
    • Photos or supporting materials, when available

In addition, awardees may be invited to present their project outcomes at the 2027 KYHN
Spring Conference.
